Team logos are a very important aspect of any sports club anywhere. The San Francisco Giants logos have lived up to that huge responsibility and carried the team for many decades. Any team's logo needs to be just flashy enough to catch people's attention, yet also subtle enough to not give people headaches.

If logos are bad, ridiculous, or unsightly, then the team probably will not feel too proud bearing that emblem. The fans of that team will probably only wear the colors and shun the mascot altogether, unless you find a way to have an ugly yet loveable mascot that can carry the logo well.
